How to get gifts you don't know you need
We've been married quite awhile...sometimes it's difficult to know what you should get for a person but my husband does a marvelous job of knowing just what I need.
This was back in late April, early May, getting near Mothers Day, and we were out walking as we do nearly every day. I mentioned a commentator I heard on the radio that I didn't agree with....(perhaps I'll tell about that at a later date....I don't want to get worked up again.) Well the more I told it over, the quieter Bruce was and the more upset I got....more so than when I first heard the guy..I think I preached a sermon on the mount and valley.......I went on and on as we walked first up one hill, then back down and up the next. Bruce hadn't said a word.
When we came to the point where we usually cross over I said, "I'm not finished yet!" and kept on huffing up to the top. "Okay", he says and follows along.
Part way down on the homeward loop I finally said..."what do you think about that!!?"
"That's why they have off buttons on radios, you can just shut 'em off", was his wise answer.
"Well he sneaked it in so fast before I could get him shut off", I explained.
So for Mothers Day I got a little package...I wasn't sure what it was at first but then realized it was an MP3 player...so we record the relaxation music off the cable tv now and I play it in the car to prevent these things from occuring again. I didn't know I needed an MP3 player but I guess I did! Was that gift for me or for him?
