more bang for my buck

I lit the fuse of a little firecracker. and sent it on it's way. I hoped to hear the little "pop" but nothing happened. I only light them because I like to hear the bang! What's the use of lighting firecrackers if there is no pop or bang!

I sent out 4 cards, handmade ones, last week while I was on bedrest with a back injury. No pops, no bangs, no emails of receipt.....maybe I don't like snailmail! Maybe cards aren't firecrackers. Or maybe you have to light lots of firecrackers at once to hear them pop. Maybe they were too far away to hear the pop. Maybe I'll try again.

You are not going to believe this!....update continued.....

Folding and putting away laundry reminded me of something that happened last month, I forgot to report. Remember how I like to buy new undies for a trip....and once they were too small....and once they were too colorful?

Well, in Late April to early May, we took a trip to California to see Kate. I bought again, a new pack of undies. So first morning there, we woke and I broke out the new socks and undies for Bruce and for me.....pulled out these white lovelies .....and they were HUGE!!!! I had bought 3 sizes too big! Without my glasses, the 10 looked like a 7.....I had to wear them until we could get to the local Target.....so every day, I pulled them on, and tucked them neatly around my hips and tummy, and pulled my trousers up over.....stuffing the extra fabric down inside. What a sight! Thank goodness they were too big!

When we finally had a Target trip, I took my grandaughter to check the sizes....she laughed and loved to help! hahah!!! I'm not safe to let out in the store I guess!

Popular Demand is my command!

A few conversations this week about family and blogs and staying in touch with a family that is spread across the continent, I was asked to post pictures and news updates as well as my pithy (or was that pitiful) writings....so my website will change slightly to a more broad window on my world....on the other side of the mountain. With help from my computer genius husband, I'll post some pictures from our recent travels to visit all these grands and see a little of what else we do!
